by | Mar 27, 2018 | Fireplace Maintenance

Your fireplace plays an important function in your home. Not only that, but chances are you’ve invested a lot of your hard-earned money into it, whether that be through upgrades, home construction, home-buying, or maintenance. Your fireplace is an investment, and it’s not enough to merely maintain it. As the focal point of your home, your fireplace should remain beautiful well into the future.

Wear and Tear

Your fireplace will most likely be put to good use all winter long, which means that it probably has accumulated damage and grime during its use. When fire and smoke is involved, even the highest-quality models will see the effects. No matter how well-built your hearth is, it will withstand some wear and tear over time. It may even become stained due to smoke, water damage, and more. Fortunately, these stains do not have to be permanent. In fact, we can remove them!

Fireplace Stain Removal

At Mr. Smokestack Chimney Service, we know that our customers seek out fireplaces as much for aesthetics as for functionality. A dirty and neglected fireplace is not the focal point you want for your home, family gathering place, or living area. The original, beautiful stone pattern can be covered completely behind soot and smoke stains. Your normal methods of cleaning and dusting don’t work for the fireplace, unfortunately, since the byproducts left behind by the fire are often sticky. Our method of cleaning this up not only removes smoke and soot stains, but also creosote, dirt, and grime. Paint “N” Peel works on stone, cultured stone, limestone, brick, marble, slate, tile, concrete, and mortar. Not sure what type of stone you have? Give us a call!

The Paint “N” Peel Process

Your journey to a clean and beautiful fireplace starts when you call Mr. Smokestack Chimney Service. When you make the initial appointment with us, a technician will paint on this product that will quickly begin working its magic! Once thoroughly coated onto the stone of your hearth, it is left to dry for 24 hours. During this drying process, the product becomes an elastic-type coating that can be pulled away – taking all the dirt, grime, and stains with it. Your technician will do the big reveal at the next appointment, usually 24 hours after application, but more time may be necessary for thorough drying.

Paint “N” Peel Safety

We’re proud to offer a product for our customers that not only revitalizes the look of your fireplace, but is also eco-friendly, safe for indoor use, and free of toxic odors and gases. Because it peels away, there is nothing left behind but clean stone!

You don’t need to spend a fortune on a fancy makeover or upgrade. If you’re happy with your fireplace’s performance, you can simply clean it with our Paint “N” Peel process.
